Club 80’s Live
FRIDAY 28TH FEBRUARY, 7.30PM
THE ULTIMATE 80’s TRIBUTE SHOW
The Club 80’s Live show will take you on a rollercoaster ride back through one of the greatest eras of music.
Hits by Cyndi Lauper, Culture Club, Guns & Roses, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Erasure, Bon Jovi, Wham, Deacon Blue! and many, many more are crammed into a non-stop, musical trip, back-combed, to the time that fashion forgot. A band tighter than a Spandex leotard and dancers shining brighter than all the neon in Vegas will support a cast that stands head and shoulder pads above the rest, in a show where the costume changes come just as thick and fast as the hits.
So, give the Rubik’s Cube a night off and get ready to be taken back to an era of music that people will never forget. Whether you were workin’ as a waitress in a cocktail bar or just a city boy, let Club 80’s take your hand back to the happiest days of your life

Heritage Talk: Slavery and the Local Area
Tuesday 18th March, 1pm to 2.30pm
This talk takes place in Eastwood House.
A Heritage talk by Stuart Nisbet
From the 16th to the 19th century, the West of Scotland grew, largely due to colonial trade. At the abolition of slavery in 1834, Scotland had 10% of the UK population but 15% of the slave owners.
What does this mean for our local area? Who was involved? Why has it taken so long to come to light? How do we find out more?
Local historian and author Stuart Nisbet has been unearthing local slavery connections for many years and has published extensively, led walks and talks and contributed to a book with Tom Devine. Come along and hear about his journey and experiences while researching this subject.

Aled Jones – Full Circle
Saturday 12th April, 7.30pm
Prepare to hear Aled Jones as you’ve never heard him before.
He was the boy treble who captivated the world with his angelic voice. Selling over seven million albums, Aled was the original, classical crossover star. His recording of Walking in the Air, from the animated film The Snowman, firmly established him as a household name and he has become an integral part of the nation’s festivities.
Equally at home on the classical stage, or starring in musical theatre productions in London West End, his credits include lead roles in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. As a singer, Aled is in demand globally and has performed in the world’s most iconic venues, from London’s Royal Albert Hall to the Sydney Opera House. A favourite with the Royal Family, he even gave a private performance to King Charles III in Kensington Palace.
He is an award-winning television broadcaster and radio presenter who’s interviewed hundreds of A-List stars over the years. He heads up BBC’s Songs of Praise and his own Saturday and Sunday morning shows on Classic FM. Now, after 40 years in the business, he’s looking back on a remarkable career with a one-man show, that will feature never-before-heard music, tales from the decades and for the first time, his story told in his own words. It’s time to come Full Circle.
