Family History for Beginners
Tuesday 25th February, 9.30am to 12.30pm
This course takes place in Eastwood House.
This half-day course, led by experienced genealogist Lorna Kinnaird, PGDip, FSAScot, QG, ASGRA, will give you the skills and knowledge you need to begin your family history research. In a relaxed group setting, you will learn about:
- The key depositories for Scottish research
- What documents can be accessed (and how to read them)
- Building a family tree chart
- Reading old handwriting
No previous experience is needed.
Can be booked separately or alongside the House History for Beginners Course to create a full day experience
For those wishing to develop their research further, we would recommend that after attending this course, you take some time to apply your learning, and then return for our Family History: Delving Deeper course.
