In a career that took him from cub reporter to TV anchor to media advisor to campaigner for justice, he presented Breakfast News with Jill Dando and Sally Magnusson, interviewed arch rivals McEnroe and Conners, Nicklaus and Watson, Souness and McNeill. He was best man to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford and became friends with icons of pop from Alvin Stardust to David Cassidy.
For the first time, Bill lifts the lid on the story behind the stories and the laughs and tears behind the headlines.
